Rhode Island has something for everyone from vibrant city amenities in historic Providence to pristine beaches in Newport. Following are some of our favorite Rhode Island destinations and events.
Waterfire is an evening event that consists of 100 cauldrons filled with wood-burning fires on the three rivers that pass through downtown Providence. The string of fires illuminates nearly two-thirds of a mile where city residents and visitors gather to stroll along the river or take a ride in Venetian-inspired gondolas. The fires are lit from sunset to past midnight on select evenings from May through October. If you want to experience something that is very relaxing while still enjoying the vibrant urban scene of downtown Providence, go and experience Waterfire. There are no admission charges. Concessions are available.
The Providence Performing Arts Center is a 3,100-seat, world-class venue located in the heart of Providence’s arts and entertainment district. PPAC features all types of performances, a world-class facility hosting first-class Broadway touring shows, plays, contemporary acts, concerts, and much more.
