Rhode Island has something for everyone from vibrant city amenities in historic Providence to pristine beaches in Newport. Following are some of our favorite Rhode Island destinations and events.

Waterfire is an evening event that consists of 100 cauldrons filled with wood-burning fires on the three rivers that pass through downtown Providence. The string of fires illuminates nearly two-thirds of a mile where city residents and visitors gather to stroll along the river or take a ride in Venetian-inspired gondolas. The fires are lit from sunset to past midnight on select evenings from May through October. If you want to experience something that is very relaxing while still enjoying the vibrant urban scene of downtown Providence, go and experience Waterfire. There are no admission charges. Concessions are available.

Providence Performing Arts Center

The Providence Performing Arts Center is a 3,100-seat, world-class venue located in the heart of Providence’s arts and entertainment district. PPAC features all types of performances,  a world-class facility hosting first-class Broadway touring shows, plays, contemporary acts, concerts, and much more. The beauty of the Theatre combined with standing ovation productions makes every event at the Providence Performing Arts Center a work of art! Providence

Dunkin' Donuts Center

“The Dunk”  is located in the heart of Providence and within walking distance from all major hotels and dining hot spots. The 31,000-square-foot arena is home to the AHL Providence Bruins and the Big East Providence College Friars and hosts headlining concerns, other sporting events and much more.

The “City by the Sea”  is best known for its ornate mansions and its prolific sailing heritage. Newport has miles of scenic coastline which are ideal for relaxing beach time and exhilarating boating. For those whose heart lies in architecture and history, Newport offers tours of opulent mansions, unique museums, and a number of walking tours that reveal the history and charm of the city. For a mouth-watering getaway, visitors can enjoy a tour and tasting at the three local vineyards followed by a memorable dining experience at a waterfront restaurant.
